To listen to the songs my parents listen to most of the time, click on the typewriter picture on the left. [Clicking on the picture on the left opens up a new tab. If the music didn't play automatically, please follow these steps: On the page that just opened, click on the little box that says "INFO." This will open up yet another tab; CLOSE THIS TAB. Now you're back at the original tab (that didn't automatically play the music). Look on top in your toolbar and locate any icon that says "reload current page" or "refresh" and click on it. This should now play the playlist. Happy listening!]
My father was an EXCELLENT typist! And the typewriter on the left was his main tool for correspondence. But as excellent a typist as he was, he NEVER used a computer! I’ve never seen him touch the keyboard, let alone type on it! He was never interested in learning the computer! To him, a typewriter was all he needed to get the job done! And I understood him. Because I know he was always his own person, never to be swayed by other people’s opinion!
I miss my father..! very much!!!
My father loved music. And he’s a natural at it. He can play almost any wind and stringed instrument, but was particularly adept with the acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, and the banduria (shown on the left).
The banduria is a small string instrument similar to the Western mandolin. It was brought by the Spaniards to the Philippines during Spain’s colonization of our country from the 1500s to the 1800s. Its overall length measures only about twenty-five inches. It has fourteen frets and twelve to fourteen strings. It is usually played with a plectrum (a flat pick triangular in shape and can be seen on the photo at left lodged between the strings on the fretboard).
